"Nostalgia" for oboe & piano

$8.00

*Price in US dollars

Duration: c. 3’41

Nostalgia was composed on 14th August 2008 for a student. He was in his final year in school and I wanted to write a piece for him before he leaves. “A minor” is his favourite key, thus the key of this piece. It is in rondo form and it describes the student’s sadness and reluctance to leave school and all his teachers and friends. The only major section describes his anticipation at what lies ahead for him when he leaves school to enter another phase of his life, but the nostalgia of leaving is again heard in the coda. The opening few bars were influenced by Camille SAINT- SAËNS’ Oboe Sonata.
