“The Ballet Dancer” was composed in 1998 when I was still a rehearsal pianist for ballet classes. The teacher got tired of syllabus music one day, and she asked me to improvise something in 3 counts on the spot. I remember the girls were doing bar exercises at that moment. The melody flowed out naturally after the first 4 bars of introduction, and that was how the title came about.
